So what is this strange
thing called RSS?
RSS, which stands for Really Simple
Syndication, is just another way for visitors to keep up to date
with their favorite websites or blogs.
Instead of having to visit those websites or blogs to see if they've written a new article or blog entry, you can use RSS to let you know when they have something new for you to read.
For example, here at Success After 50.com,
we have an RSS feed (sometimes referred to as a "feed" or "channel)
for our most recent articles and blog entries.
So how
can you, the visitor, make use of RSS?
First, you'll need to
get yourself a program called a "news reader." Many news readers are
available as free downloads. Just do a search for that keyword
phrase on Google. Or if you're a Yahoo or MSN user, you can use your
"My Yahoo" or "My MSN" page to view RSS feeds. Just scroll to the
top or bottom of the page and look for the icon marked "add content"
and you can add the feed from there.
RSS feeds are becoming a
very popular way of finding out updates to your favorite sites as
this information can be gathered in just one place!
